The Edinburgh Orchestral Ensemble holds rehearsals once a week in Tolcross Community Centre, 117 Fountainbridge, Edinburgh. (Mondays 6:45 - 8:45pm) The aim of the orchestra is to encourage and promote high standards in the playing and performance of a wide range of music. To achieve this the orchestra will collaborate with other music groups, choirs or soloists, to provide audiences with a diverse and enjoyable programme of concerts throughout the year.

We do not hold auditions. Prospective members are invited to contact us to check which vacancies are on offer. Depending on the orchestra needs, they will be invited to attend our rehearsals and will see by themselves whether the orchestra meet their expectations.

The orchestra will be working on a number of projects involving not only the full orchestra but also string and wind groups, choirs and soloists. Most members will play throughout the year but there are opportunities for other musicians to become involved for shorter periods.
